SCRIPTURE

A simply written thing
Containing nothing new,
Perpetuating attitudes,
And continuing to do
The work of rule.

A complimentary scroll
Revealing no account
Of fundamental doubt,
Or unilateral bouts
Of allowance.

A verbal warning
Scribbled in reports,
Universally supported,
And exonerating
All distortions.

A conventional ledger
Elevated to altitudes
More able of view,
And containing truths
Too tall to disprove.
