The tarantula and pepsis wasp
Performed their famous dance;
The spider reared,
The sphecoid neared,
And quickly took its chance;

It stung the softer abdomen,
And like a fallen fly,
The spider’s legs
Collapsed, as eggs
Were laid to multiply.
